Does glo minerals contain bismuth oxychloride?
Yes, a low level of a pharmaceutical grade bismuth oxychloride is used in select items. Bismuth is NOT the same as bismuth oxychloride. Bismuth is a heavy metal. It is dark in color with a metallic shine. Bismuth oxychloride is a soft white powder. The physical and chemical properties of each are quite different. There are few natural powders as compatible with the skin as bismuth oxychloride. Due to the particle’s shape, it attaches to the skin allowing transpiration when applied.

Can minerals expire?
Glo minerals products do not support microbial growth. They do not contain moisture, therefore bacteria cannot form and thrive. There is always a chance that contamination can occur during application, so it is recommended to replace a given makeup item within 6 to 12 months after use.
